The Library Service welcomes students and staff with disabilities, and is committed to ensuring an inclusive environment where all students can make full use of the facilities and services we offer.
This guide describes the facilities that are available within Library Services for those with additional needs.
To access the full range of support available at Manchester Metropolitan University please register with the Disability Service:
You may also wish to speak to a member of Library staff to discuss your library and information requirements - email email@example.com.
Once you have disclosed a disability to the Disability Service, they will create a Personal Learning Plan (PLP) for you. This document sets out recommendations for the support you may need during your time at Manchester Metropolitan.
We will automatically apply recommendations relating to the Library for you, so you don't have to do anything. You will be notified with details of these recommendations, and what you might need to do to access some of these services.
Dependent on what it says in your PLP, the Library can provide the following:
You can speak to a member of the Library help desk about any of our services, resources or facilities. There is no need to make an appointment. Opening hours for the help desk are on the Library website.
You can have a live chat with a member of library staff, and often get a problem solved immediately, or be referred on to someone who can help you. More information about the chat service is available on the Library website.
You can book an appointment with your subject librarian who will discuss and demonstrate how to use library resources and services, and can offer a personalised tour of the Library on request.
You may require some assistance using the photocopier and printers. If so, please ask at the help desk on the ground floor where a member of staff can assist you.
The IT help desk on the ground floor of All Saints Library can help you with a wide variety of IT related problems and issues and is open 12:30pm - 5:00pm Monday to Friday. You can also speak to an IT Rover or contact IT by email firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 0161 247 4646.
