Study spaces: essential use only

All PCs and study spaces are for essential use only and must be booked in advance.

Under the new restrictions, you must not leave, or be outside of your home except where necessary. This is the law. To help keep yourself and everyone safe, before you visit the library, carefully consider if your reason to be there is absolutely necessary. If it is, please confirm for what reason your visit is necessary by selecting the appropriate box on the booking form.

Current government guidance allows university libraries to open for those students defined as essential users only. This includes students who are:

  • students attending essential face to face teaching. You can find details of the programmes which will be delivered face-to-face here.
  • students living in university accommodation
  • students who need additional support with mental health and wellbeing
  • commuter students who do not have access to appropriate study facilities at home
  • researchers or postgraduate research students who need access to specialist resources or facilities
