Online requests

Please use our online form to request electronic articles, book chapters and books for research.  Staff are currently working from home and will process your requests as soon as possible.  You will be asked to log in to your Library account and then you will need to enter the details of the item you require.

You will receive an email notification to your University account when the item is available for you.

If there is a delay in supplying the item, or we are unable to supply, then we will also contact you via your University email account.

Electronic article and electronic book request forms

If you require an item for your studies which is not in stock then you may request an inter-library loan (ILL).  We will then try to find the item for you via the British Library or other UK institutions.

Items from outside the UK may only be requested by researchers and staff.

Staff and fully-enrolled students at Manchester Metropolitan University may request the following number of ILLs per academic year free of charge:

  • Undergraduate: 10
  • Postgraduate Taught: 15
  • Postgraduate Research and Staff: 30

If you require more than your allocation please contact us.

How long will it take?

Leave plenty of time to get your ILL. We advise a minimum of 3 weeks.

All photocopies of journal articles and book chapters will be sent to your home address. Unfortunately, we are unable to post out books, but we will notify you when they are ready for collection.

Please consult EThOS if you require a UK thesis.

If the thesis you require is not available via EThOS then please use the online form.
