What is Convert it!

If you have PowerPoint slides and would prefer them in a Word doc, or you want to convert a PDF into an MP3 file that you can listen to on the go, you can change it quickly and easily with Convert it!

Convert it! is great for supporting different learning styles, those with disabilities and, if you’re learning a foreign language, why not convert your file to audio to practice your pronunciation?

Converting your files is simple; it takes around ten minutes, it’s entirely automated and the documents you submit to the service are automatically deleted once they have been converted.

You do not need to worry about keeping your privacy as Convert it! does not store personal information. Please check copyright before you Convert It!

Using Convert it!

Using the web form, simply:

  • Upload your document to Convert It!
  • Select how you want it converted
  • Enter your email address

Once your document is ready you’ll receive an email, it should take about 10 minutes.

Getting started with Convert It!

Copyright

You can make an accessible copy using Convert It!, providing at least one of the following applies:

  • You have a print disability or you are acting on behalf of someone with a print disability.
  • You have permission from the copyright owner.
  • The document is out of copyright.
  • You own the copyright.

Students and staff may convert material related to coursework and other Manchester Met activities, e.g. unit handouts or lecture notes, without prior permission.

When making a copy you agree:

  • the copy won’t be shared with others
  • you abide by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act, 1988, Section 31A (Disabled persons: copies of works for personal use)
  • you abide by the Data Protection Act when storing or sharing converted files that contain personal data.
