Alumni membership is available to all graduates of the Manchester Metropolitan University. Please note that this is conditional on the return of all library loans and/or the payment of any outstanding debts to the University including the Library. The University reserves the right to withhold access until returns are made or such debts are cleared in full.

Membership is for three years and can be renewed after three years.  No charge is made for membership.

What can I access?

Library building:

Alumni members are entitled to swipe into the Library and use the Chat Zone during opening hours.

Physical resources: 

You are entitled to borrow up to 4 items (2 week loan items only).

You are also entitled to reference access to any further physical resources (ie resources can be used within the Library but not borrowed or taken elsewhere).

Online Resources:

Alumni members are entitled to Walk In Access (WIA) to online resources. WIA gives visitors access to a limited range of Manchester Met Library Services' online services (also known as online resources) where licences permit. Library Services' online services include ebooks, ejournals and research databases. Users may consult ejournals, ebooks and databases available to walk-in access users via any PC in the Library (apart from the catalogues) using a temporary login. Users need to register for this service each time they want to use it.

Alumni users must observe the Library Rules and Regulations. Membership can be withdrawn if any of these are violated.

When can I visit?

Once you have received your ID card, you will be able to swipe into the library during any of our opening hours.

How do I join?

Register using the Alumni Library Membership Form on the Alumni website.

The application process will take 14 working days to complete, if successful, a library card will be posted out.
