What can I access?

Print books and journals:

You are entitled to the full staff allowance for borrowing books.

You can apply for inter-library loans.

You can use other printed items within the library.

Online resources:

When your registration with Manchester Metropolitan University is complete your university login will give you access to some online resources  including ebooks, ejournals and research databases.  Licensing restrictions mean that you will not be able to access some online resources.  Resources which are unavailable to you will give 'access denied' messages. You can request a current list of accessible online resources. Remote access to online resources is available 24 hours a day and in the Library during opening times.

You can also use Walk In Access (WIA) to electronic resources when visiting the Library. WIA gives access to a slightly different range of online services using a temporary login on library PCs. You will need to register for this service at the library help desk during staffed hours each time you want to use it. You will need to provide two sets of ID including photo and proof of address.

Help on using online resources can be found on our video  Getting started with Library Search

If you have any questions regarding access of resources please ask at the library helpdesk or use the Contact us information on this page.
