Book Giveaway 2020 Shortlist

Thanks very much to everyone who suggested a book for our 2020 Book Giveaway. It's been a very hard process, but we now have a shortlist of three books. There can only be one winner - voting has been put on hold for the moment due to COVID-19, but will take place once the crisis is over and the university is open again. Our shortlisted books are:

'And the stars were burning brightly' by Danielle Jawando

'Every sparrow falling' by Shirley-Anne McMillan

'The black flamingo' by Dean Atta

Book Giveaway 2019

We're delighted to announce that our Book Giveaway for new students starting in September 2019 is 'Behind Closed Doors' by Miriam Halahmy, and the first chapter is available to read now. Once you have enrolled (or if you are already a Manchester Met student), you can read the whole book online. Look out for print copies of the book which will be available to pick up from various locations across campus during Welcome Week. 'Behind Closed Doors' has been described as moving, compelling, sensitive and heart-wrenching in its 5* reviews, and we hope you find it enjoyable and thought-provoking too.

Miriam will be our guest at our #MeetTheAuthor event on Wednesday 25th September at 2.00 p.m. in the Library Chat Zone. All welcome!
