You can access and read ebooks online using an iPad or iPhone using the Safari browser. Access them the same way you would on a PC - via the relevant section or search tool from the Manchester Met Library Services website.
Please be aware that the VLebooks site is not optimised for mobile devices.
Whilst it is possible, you may have difficulty navigating ebooks using this method.
From the ebook details page, tap Read Online to open the ebook viewer.
The online reader will open in a new browser tab.

These instructions are based on an iPad: the procedure should be very similar (if not identical, apart from screen layout) on an iPhone.
Before you begin to download an ebook from VLebooks you must have:
Clicking on the title of a VLebook in either Library Search, or from the link in the Catalogue, takes you to the ebook's details page on the VLebooks site.
From the details page select Download.
The standard loan length is 1 day/24 hours. Tap Download to begin.
VLebooks will generate the download file.
Once completed click the link to download.
A link to the ebook as a '.acsm' file will open in a new browser.
Select Open in "VLebooks" to complete the download.
This will prompt the VLebooks app to open.
If you are using the app for the first time you will need to log in to the app with your Adobe Digital Edtions credentials.
Enter your Adobe Digital Editions user ID and password then tap Authorize.
Upon opening the .acsm file with the VLebooks app, the full ebook will begin to download.
The ebook will appear in your VLebook library.
Tap the cover to open and read.
