Open access

A guide to open access at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Make your research Open Access at Manchester Metropolitan University

To make your research Open Access you should use Manchester Metropolitan University's Research Information Management System, Symplectic Elements. Access your profile and see if the output is there.  If not, create a manual record and fill in all the essential criteria.  From the Symplectic record you can click on the repository icon and follow the instructions to upload the output into Manchester Metropolitan University’s Institutional Repository, e-space.  Remember this should usually be the 'author final version', or 'author accepted manuscript', of the article or conference paper for Green Open Access, or the publisher's PDF if you have opted for Gold Open Access.

The Library's e-space team can advise if you are unsure which version of your research output you can deposit.

Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) have produced a list of Symplectic FAQs and a series of guides to using Symplectic - please contact them for further details    RKE-Systems@mmu.ac.uk
