A Library Alphabet

O is for Open Access

This Alphabet Letter was brought to you by Sarah May, the Library’s Research Data Co-ordinator, who loves glitter almost as much as she loves Christmas.

Have you ever been asked to pay to access an article or book you need for your course? Open research is trying to stop that!

Under new guidelines, any articles or conference proceedings published after April 2016 will need to be made openly and freely available to anyone who wants to access them, providing they are not under embargo. Our repository has full text versions of many articles written by Manchester Met researchers.

Read our guides on Open Access http://libguides.mmu.ac.uk/openaccess and Open Data http://libguides.mmu.ac.uk/rdm for more information.
